Is it ok to lift the ribs during pregnancy?
IS IT OK TO LIFT THE RIBS DURING PREGNANCY?
Not really, no.
We’re led to believe that the ribs should naturally flare and lift up in order to accommodate a growing baby throughout pregnancy.
Contrary to belief though, it most definitely IS physically possible for a pregnant person to keep their ribs in the DOWN position throughout her baby’s entire gestation.
Lifting the ribs, tucking the pelvis, standing with the pelvis way out over the toes, and faulty breathing mechanics are all of the factors that attribute to diastasis recti.
