A NOTE ON TIGHT CLOTHING AND BODY CASTS
For your diastasis recti clients, suggest they wear comfortable clothing where possible, particularly if what they wear inhibits their breathing, it restricts their range of movement, or it affects the abdominal region in some way.
In our quest to fix abdominal separation, we’re trying to get our clients to do everything they can to stop adding more pressure to their abdominal cavity, so if a piece of clothing is restrictive in this area, it’s going to help add to the already underlying issues, isn’t it?
EXAMPLES OF CLOTHING / BODY CASTS:
- skinny jeans
- belts
- underwire bras
- short or tight skirts and dresses
- belly binders
- high-waisted trousers / pants
- tight leggings
- tummy control underwear / Lycra-based shapewear
